Riot, the Big Vision

TLDR;
- We are building a metaverse for all the games (yes, more games!), game assets, game characters, and player owned businesses.
- The $RIOT Token will be the currency for the Riot Metaverse and all the games. It will be available on Uniswap on September 30, 2021.
- We are announcing two new upcoming games: Riot Rampage and Riot Rush.

We are excited to share with you the larger vision behind Riot Racers that encompasses the Riot Metaverse, the RIOT Token, Riot Racers, and future games. The Metaverse and the games are being built using Unity 3D Game Engine. But remember that Riot Racers races occur in the background, and then show you a 3D video replay (similar to Zed Run, date for replay to be announced) of the race.

Riot Metaverse

Players will have the opportunity to own land and create businesses in the Riot Metaverse. The land will have utility, based on its location and use. And players will have the opportunity to develop land and businesses to serve the other players.

Here are some examples of a few different businesses players could create. A player could buy land that is near a very high traffic area, setup a car resale showroom and charge other players a fee to display their cars. Or, a player could buy land, create a club, set the membership requirements to owning a certain car model, and then charge a fee to join. Another example is the upcoming Paint Shops in Riot Racers where an owner could display examples of their paint jobs and prices.

Land in the Metaverse will begin to go on sale in early 2022 when the land map is announced.

Wen Metaverse? We anticipate that players will be able to experience the first parts of the Metaverse in late 2022.

RIOT Token

The RIOT Token will be the currency used in the Metaverse and all the games. It will first be available to buy on Uniswap on the Ethereum mainnet, and at a later date on a dex (decentralized exchange) on the Polygon Network. See the Riot Racers Discord for announcements.

The RIOT Token will over time be usable for more and more as we get closer to the launch of the Riot Racers game. The first action it will be usable for is to pay a small fee to change the name of your Riot Racer Car, Mechanic Shop, or Gas Station. Once the Riot Racers game launches, the RIOT Token will be used to enter races, purchase upgrades, and more.

To use the RIOT Token in the Metaverse and in any of the games, players will need to bridge RIOT Tokens to the Polygon Network. Gas fees on the Polygon Network are a fraction of a USD penny, compared to $5 USD or more on the Ethereum mainnet. Guides on how to do this will be made available.

Games

Riot Racers is a play-to-earn car racing game where players and participants own parts of the game. Players can earn RIOT Tokens by playing the game or by simply owning parts of the game. All ownable parts of the game are in the form of verifiably owned NFTs.

Riot Racers has been in development since June 2021. In the next few weeks we will be releasing screenshots, previews, and updates. We anticipate game play to start in December (2021).

And… We are very excited to announce two new upcoming games: Riot Rampage and Riot Rush! More details will come in early 2022, but here is some info about each game.

Riot Rampage is a play-to-earn street fighting game where players can own fighters in the game and upgrade them with awesome weapons and shields. Players will also be able to own other parts of the game like weapons shops and battlegrounds. The game will be played similar to Riot Racers, with characters that battle against each other.

Riot Rush is a play-to-earn chase game that will take place in the Metaverse, with Riot Rampage characters being chased by Riot Robots. Think Subway Surfers meets Los Angeles car chase. Players can play with either a Riot Fighter or a Riot Robot that they own. Players will also be able to own other parts of the game. More details coming the second half of 2022.
